“Colorado is losing businesses and jobs at an alarming rate.” Bold strategy, Cotton—let’s see if it pays off. But honestly, what did anyone expect? It’s not just a “tough” regulatory environment chasing companies away. It is a systemic preference for extraction over production. As in – how much rent, metro district fees and real estate fees can be extracted from the residents? For nearly two decades (or longer), Colorado’s leadership—a revolving door of real-estate-industry lackeys, municipal bureaucrats, and the “useful idiots” yapping about “affordable housing” and virtue signaling - has bent over backward to prioritize real estate developer margins at the expense of actual economic development.

False Allegations Lead To Election Free Speech Harassment

April 6, 2026/

Lakewood confiscated political yard signs without warning or discussion less than a week before election day. Whole neighborhoods were denuded of signs, angering residents who argue they were properly placed. Days later, residents pushed back, protesting for free speech at a city ward meeting. City Council members unjustly accused the protesters of electioneering, even while conducting similar discussions within electioneering limits themselves. Police were called. No electioneering was found. No apologies were issued to free speech, “Vote Yes” advocates for any of these incidents.

Zikr Dance Ensemble Returns to Lakewood Cultural Center

April 6, 2026/

In a few short days, Zikr Dance Ensemble will be performing at the Lakewood Cultural Center, bringing its world class dancers, awe-inspiring choreography, and thought-provoking multimedia presentations to one of their favorite Front Range venues for another consecutive season. The critically acclaimed, Littleton-based contemporary ballet company will be presenting their ambitious Spring 2026 Season production, RUNES, on April 11 at 7:30pm, showcasing the company's roots while exploring the power and transformative energies of some of history's most iconic symbols and the light code language of the future. While the company will be performing across Colorado and New Mexico through May 3, they will be in Lakewood for one-night only.  

Hydrate IV Bar Expands to Lakewood This Month

April 6, 2026/

Hydrate IV Bar®, a Colorado-founded IV therapy and wellness brand, is expanding to Lakewood in late March, with a Grand Opening Celebration taking place from 12-4 p.m. on April 17th. Located at 3333 South Wadsworth Blvd., Suite C106, the spa will mark Hydrate IV Bar’s 11th location in Colorado.

Local Grocery, Gift, & Honey Shop Opening in Lakewood on April 18

On April 18, Homestead in the Hood Mercantile will celebrate its grand opening in Lakewood. Located at 1385 Carr Street just a block off West Colfax Avenue, the shop will stock locally sourced goods, groceries, gifts, and more, with Homestead in the Hood’s own hive products taking center stage. Homestead in the Hood Mercantile is a part of The Victor shopping center, a community oriented, horseshoe-shaped building with a common courtyard housing interconnected businesses Mint & Serif Coffee House, All Its Own gift and plant shop, and Moose and Frankie skin and body care shop.
